Announcements

Congratulations to Frances A! This young lady auditioned as a cellist in the Youth Orchestra at the Temecula Conservatory of Music. Not only was she accepted into the orchestra, she was placed as principal cellist! Way to go, Frances! I'm so proud of you!

The week of March 22nd, we will have group lessons to replace regular private lessons. Please contact me to sign up for a group lesson. Group lessons will be held on zoom. Monday and Saturday students will keep their private lesson for that week, in addition to the group lesson.

Festival fees are due March 19. Performance videos are due April 23.

Our next set of recitals will be the week of May 24. I plan to hold only three recitals this time, so each recital may be a bit longer than our previous ones. These recitals will replace all private lessons for that week.

Please see below for my official schedule, including all days off for my spring 2021 semester. No matter what day your lessons are scheduled, I have made sure that I will be offering you 19 lessons over the course of the semester, including recitals and group lessons.

Spring Semester 2021

During my spring semester, I will be offering 18 lessons, including recitals and group lessons. Your monthly payment rate remains the same every month, no matter how many lessons you attend, and over the five months, they add up to 15 lessons. This will give you three flex weeks, so that if you attend weekly, you still get three lessons for free! Private lessons are held at your scheduled lesson time every week, from January 11 until the end of May, with the following exceptions:

* No lessons on Monday January 18

* No lessons Friday through Monday, February 12 - 15

* No lessons on Saturday March 13

* Tuesday through Friday, March 23 - 26: Group lessons replace private lessons. Monday and Saturday students are invited to join a group lesson as well as their regular scheduled private lesson for that week.

* Spring Break: No lessons between Monday March 29 and Saturday April 3

* No lessons Tuesday through Thursday, May 11 - 13. All students are invited to sign up for a practice recital, to be held on zoom, on Tuesday or Wednesday, May 11-12.

* All lessons the week of May 24 will be replaced by our Spring Recitals

* No lessons on Monday May 31

FESTIVAL

Every spring, my young students have the opportunity to participate in Festival. Festival is a non-competitive, adjudicated event through the National Federation of Music Clubs. Participants must be younger than 18 and must be able to read music. Otherwise participants can perform at any level from early elementary through advanced. The entry fee for Festival is $50 per student. Students who return for multiple years may have to opportunity to earn enough points toward being awarded a trophy.

The performance itself takes place in the spring, usually a Saturday in late March or early April. Students who wish to participate will need to learn two approved pieces to be performed from memory. Performers may participate virtually by sending in a performance video, and therefore do not need to be local to this area.
